Are you looking for a new career? Are you considering seeing if there is anything else out there? With job openings exceeding estimates for 2019, there is a huge demand for new hires across the United States. Which means if you are considering a new job, career or company, now is the time to be looking.

According to the Labor Department’s Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey, the total number of positions open rose by 346,000 to a grand total of 7.49 million in one month. Many people are continuing to keep their current job and stayed at a steady 2.3 percent. The largest industry that saw an increase in new job openings is trade, transportation and utilities. Second to that is education and health services, with construction, information, leisure and hospitality, financial activities, professional and business services and finally other services all seeing an increase as well (in order). State and local, mining and logging, manufacturing and federal all saw a negative net change in their job openings in March.

The positive side of seeing such growth shows that the economy is continuing to grow and a demand for employees is continuing to rise. In fact, there are 1.28 million more jobs than there are Americans to fill those jobs. Companies are continuing to hire regularly and looking for new candidates that range from entry level to experienced professionals. 3.41 million Americans left their jobs in March, but that is not negatively impacting the economy.

If you are considering switching from the career you are in, consider using a staffing company, such as River City Staffing, who offers direct hire placement and offers many options in industry, positions and location. Staffing companies are exceedingly careful with your resume to ensure your current position is protected while you are considering your options. While you may ultimately stay at your company in the end, you will find that working with a staffing company will ensure the utmost confidentiality during your process.
